Tales on 2 Wheels: a volunteer-run, not-for-profit motorcycle club in Bangalore
Tales on 2 Wheels is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit riding group. Nobody is paid and the club makes no money: a ride fee covers only that ride's stay, mechanic support and food, and whatever is left at the end of the year is donated to children in need.
Our story
We started in 2011 as the Bangalore Motorcycle Club (BMC) and refreshed and renamed ourselves Tales on 2 Wheels: the same club, 15 years of tales and adventures on two wheels. Every month, on the third weekend, we meet at a published point in Bengaluru and ride out as one group — a day ride to the Western Ghats, a weekend in Coorg or Chikmagalur, or a long tour to Ladakh, Nepal or Thailand.
450+ riders have ridden with us: women and men, first-timers and veterans, Royal Enfields to superbikes. There is no membership fee and no vetting beyond a road-worthy motorcycle and a helmet; finish your first ride with the group and you are a T2W Rider.
How the money works
Is there a membership fee?
No. Creating an account and joining the club is free, and stays free. You pay only for the rides you take part in.
What does a ride fee cover?
Only that ride's shared costs, as the ride needs them. Each ride page shows its own fee.
- Stay:Rooms or camps on overnight rides, booked for the group.
- Mechanic support:A mechanic or breakdown-support arrangement for the ride.
- Food:Group meals on the ride, where the ride includes them.
Who gets paid?
Nobody. The crew who plan routes, lead and sweep rides, book stays and run this website are riders volunteering their weekends. The club makes no money from any ride.
Where does the surplus go?
Whatever is left at the end of the year, after every ride's costs are settled, is donated to children in need. There is no separate fundraising ride: every ride you take contributes. We do not collect donations through this site.
