Frequently Asked Questions
Everything new riders ask before their first Tale on 2 Wheels.
How do I join Tales on 2 Wheels?
Create a free account on taleson2wheels.com, browse the upcoming rides, and register for one that suits you. Once you complete your first ride with the group, you become a T2W Rider — no membership fee, no formalities beyond that first ride.
How much does a ride cost?
Each ride has its own fee shown on the ride page — it covers group arrangements like stay and food depending on the ride. Day rides are typically the most affordable; multi-day rides and expeditions cost more. There is no separate club membership fee.
What kind of motorcycle do I need?
Any well-maintained motorcycle that can comfortably cruise on highways works for most rides. Each ride page lists the distance and difficulty (easy, moderate, challenging, extreme) so you can judge whether your bike — and you — are ready for it.
Can I bring a pillion rider?
Yes — the registration form lets you register as a solo rider or rider-with-pillion. Pillion details are captured during registration so the crew can plan seating and accommodation.
How does ride registration work?
Open the ride page and hit Register. Some rides open registration in stages — core members first, then T2W riders, then everyone — so if registration hasn't opened for you yet, the page shows exactly when it will. If a ride is full you can join the waitlist and you'll be promoted automatically when a spot frees up.
How often do you ride?
We ride every third weekend, with a mix of day rides, weekend rides, multi-day tours, and the occasional big expedition to places like Ladakh, Nepal, and Thailand.
Where do motorcycle riders meet up in Bangalore (Bengaluru)?
Every Tales on 2 Wheels ride starts with a rider meetup in Bengaluru — each ride page publishes the exact meetup point (usually a petrol pump or food stop on the exit highway) and the meetup time. We meet, brief the route, and roll out together. Check the upcoming rides page to see the next meetup.
Do you do casual catchups or only long rides?
Both. Alongside weekend tours and expeditions we run easy day rides — early-morning breakfast-style rides of 150–300 km that are back by afternoon — and every ride doubles as a community catchup over chai and food stops. It's the easiest way to meet Bengaluru's riding community.
What are weekend rides and the third weekend ride?
Our signature cadence is the third weekend ride — a group ride every month on the third weekend. Weekend rides are one- or two-day rides from Bangalore (typically 300–600 km round trip, think Sakleshpur, Coorg, or Chikmagalur), while a long ride can stretch into a multi-day tour or a full expedition to Ladakh, Nepal, or Thailand. Every ride's dates and distance are on the ride page.
Can women riders join Tales on 2 Wheels?
Absolutely — women riders and pillions are a growing part of the club, riding solo on their own motorcycles or with a partner. Every ride runs with a designated lead and sweep rider, live GPS tracking, and emergency contacts on file, so a first group ride is a structured, safe experience. If you're a woman rider in Bengaluru looking for a riding group, pick any upcoming ride marked easy or moderate and register — you'll be welcomed.
Is it safe to ride with a group?
Every ride has a designated lead and sweep rider, riders' emergency contacts are collected at registration, and live GPS tracking during the ride lets the crew spot anyone falling behind. We ride by clear group-riding guidelines that every rider agrees to.
I'm new to group riding. Which ride should I pick first?
Start with a day ride marked easy or moderate — typically 150–300 km. You'll learn the group's riding style, meet the community, and earn your T2W Rider status for future rides.
