New to Group Riding? Your First Ride with T2W in Bangalore

You do not need a big bike, a riding CV or an invitation. You need a road-worthy motorcycle, a helmet and a free account. Volunteer-run and not-for-profit: ride fees cover only stay, mechanic support and food, and the year-end surplus goes to children in need.

Why a first ride with T2W is a safe one

A lead and a sweep rider

The lead sets the pace at the front; the sweep stays at the back, so nobody is ever last and alone.

Live GPS tracking

During the ride the crew can see anyone dropping back and regroup before anyone is lost.

Emergency contacts on file

Collected when you register, so the crew knows who to call before you need them to.

A published meetup

Every ride page names the meetup point in Bengaluru and the time. Turn up, get briefed, roll out together.

How to join in four steps

  1. 1

Create a free account — register here. There is no membership fee, ever.

  2. 2

Pick an upcoming ride marked easy or moderate and register for it on the ride page.

  3. 3

Pay only that ride's own costs: stay, mechanic support and food, as the ride needs. Day rides are often close to free.

  4. 4

Turn up at the meetup point on time with your gear. Finish the ride with the group and you are a T2W Rider.

Which ride should I pick first?

Every ride page shows its distance and a difficulty grade: easy, moderate, challenging or extreme. Start with an easy or moderate day ride — typically 150–300 km, back by the afternoon. You learn how the group rides, meet the community, and earn your T2W Rider status for the longer tours.

What to bring, and the day itself

Helmet, gloves, a jacket and covered shoes; a full tank; your documents. The riding guidelines cover the pre-ride bike check, formation riding and hand signals, and how meetups work explains the morning. Read both once before your first ride.

What does the fee cover?

Only the ride's shared costs — stay, mechanic support, food — and nothing else. Nobody is paid, and the year-end surplus goes to children in need. How the money works.

New rider questions

Do I need riding gear for my first group ride?

Yes. A helmet is mandatory on every T2W ride, and we expect riding gloves, covered shoes and a jacket — the riding guidelines at taleson2wheels.com/guidelines list what to wear and the pre-ride bike check. Nobody is turned away for not owning the fanciest gear; everybody is for riding without a helmet.

How fast does the group ride, and what happens if I fall behind?

The group is paced for the group, not for the fastest bike. A lead rider sets the pace at the front, a sweep rider stays at the back so nobody is ever last alone, and live GPS tracking during the ride lets the crew see anyone dropping back. Regroup stops are built into every route.

Do I need a big bike to ride with T2W?

No. Any road-worthy motorcycle that can cruise comfortably on the highway is welcome — Royal Enfields, 150–400 cc commuters, adventure bikes and superbikes all ride in the same group. Pick a ride whose distance and difficulty suit your bike and your experience.

When do I become a T2W Rider?

After your first completed ride. Register for any ride as a new member, finish it with the group, and your account is marked a T2W Rider automatically — no application, no vote, no fee.

Can I just turn up at the meetup without registering online?

No — every rider registers online for each ride, because the crew needs your emergency contact and details on file before you roll out, and the stay and food are booked from the registrations. Registration is free to open and takes a couple of minutes.
